Location in Temple of the Tooth Relic


The left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is kept in a revered location called the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. UNESCO designated the temple, which is often visited by thousands of visitors and devotees from both domestic and international countries, as a world historic site in 1988.


Built in the city of Kandy, the Sacred Tooth Relic Temple is located next to the historic Royal Palace to the north and the "Udawaththa Kelaya" forest reserve to the east. Known by the names "Kiri Muhuda" to the south and "Natha & Paththini Devala" to the west, is the well-known Kandy Lake.
